Moldova has a long tradition in wine production. Its territory is covered with so many vineyards, that few countries have. In Moldova, wine is the cult of the nation gathered in a glass. For Moldovans the grape cluster is associated with pearls, treasures and a symbol of prosperity. Even on the map, the country's boarders resemble a grape. Back in the days, MOldova used to provide 70% of the wine for the former Soviet Union. The country is now emerging from the shadow of the past and is beginning make it's place in the world's wine market.
